Speakers Bureau

A free service of the Berks County Bar Association. Need a speaker to address your group or organization- the Speaker Bureau will try to meet your needs for a speaker on any legal topics. If you would like a speaker, please call the Bar Association at 610-375-4591.

Key Benefits

Naturalization Ceremony:

Two ceremonies to honor new citizens are held by the Berks County Bar Association in the Courthouse. Various service organizations participate in these ceremonies.

Resumes:

The Berks County Bar Association accepts resumes from attorneys, paralegals and legal secretaries and provides these resumes to offices and firms when requested. There is no charge for this service.

Stepping Out:

Each year the Young Lawyers section updates a booklet, provided by the Berks County Bar Foundation, entitled Stepping Out, which advises high school seniors of their rights and responsibilities. Attorney speakers present these booklets to all seniors in Berks County during the month of May.

Older & Wiser:

A senior citizen book, provided by the Berks County Bar Foundation, is available for groups and individuals in Berks County. The booklet advises senior citizens of their rights and also lists names and telephone numbers of other organizations.

Law Day:

A Law Day luncheon is held each year during Law Week. Essay winners are honored and the Howard Fox Memorial Law Scholarship is presented.

Client Dispute Resolution Committee:

A committee of the Berks County Bar Association that exists to help clients resolve fee disputes with their attorneys.

Alternative Dispute Resolution Program:

As a service to its members and to the public, the Ad Hoc Dispute Resolution Committee administers a Civil Dispute Resolution Program available to individuals, corporations, insurance carriers and all other entities who seek the expeditious resolution of disputes which are, or could be, pending as civil actions in the Berks County Court of Common Pleas. This includes all civil actions except for cases involving divorce, equitable distribution, custody, child or spousal support, alimony pendente lite, or paternity and cases before the Orphans' Court.
