Welcome to the website of the Berks County Bar Association.
Whether you are member of the Berks Community visiting this site for the first time, or a member of the Berks County Bar Association who has utilized this site on prior occasions, I hope that you find this site informative. But, please stay tuned, because we are planning several improvements to make this site even more informative, easier to navigate and with more links to related informative sites and to Bar Association
services.
The end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009 brought a significant change to the Bar Association. We said good-bye to our Executive Director, Barbara Kittrell, who over the past 29+ years helped develop and strengthen the Bar Association into a dedicated group of attorneys who are serving the Berks County Community beyond just the practice of law. We now welcome our new Executive Director, Don Smith, who will expand upon the foundation that Barbara built. New programs will be added and existing programs improved. The members of the Bar Association are excited to have Don on board and look forward to the challenge of implementing Don’s new ideas.
The attorneys of the Bar Association will continue the numerous in-school programs such as the Mock Trial Competition, U.S. Constitution Week, Stepping Out, and Book ‘em. We are in the process of developing some new programs for elementary school students, as well. There are always attorneys available to speak at schools and other organizations on a wide variety of legal topics. Please feel free to contact the Bar Association for more information.
The “Ask A Lawyer” program will continue on BCTV this year with plans to include some timely topics during this tough economic period. Please make it a point to tune in to the program.
The Lawyer Referral Service is also available through the Bar Association to assist anyone who is in need of an attorney and would like help in finding one who can help with their individual circumstances.
